Intense, dark, deep, brooding nose with complex aromas of black cherry, roasted plum, black licorice, garrigue, pencil shavings, and black pepper.  The palate envelops with sweet earthy tones, black cherry, and baking spice.  Tightly wound, fine, gripping tannin and structured acidity give way to a long, complex finish.  Potential for medium to long term cellaring.  Enjoy this wine now through 2026.

The Flanerie Vineyard, planted in 2003 sits facing due east on the southern edge of the Ribbon Ridge AVA.  The terrain is comprised of a thin layer of topsoil over a deep seam of marine sedimentary motherock.  This single vineyard bottling is a composition of 60% Wadenswil, 27% 667 and 13% 777.

95 pts Purely Domestic Wine Report (Doug Wilder): The nose is a firm graphite, tomato, cherry, loam and wax. The palate offers excellent structure of cherry, graphite with deep mouth-coating spice-kissed blackberry. Drink 2018 – 2030
