La Belle Promenade Vineyard

Chehalem Mountains AVA
Newberg, Oregon

If Flanerie Vineyard is a bass, La Belle Promenade Vineyard is a harmonious treble, singing bright, high tones that ripple through the Chehalem Mountains AVA. An exposed hilltop at a rocky 820 ft. elevation, the vineyard has a cooler microclimate that suits our pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot meunier, aligote, and gruner veltliner grapes. Across our diverse 36 acres of volcanic Jory and Nekia soils, the sun shines down from many varying directions, uniquely ripening each block of vines.

Before we planted our first vines, the expansive plot grew lush cherries, prunes, and blackberries. At the time of our purchase in 2012, the orchard was long abandoned, holding only a ghost of a barn.

Now, the crops we harvest produce characteristic floral notes that cling to acidity and tell the story of the black and blue fruits that once grew here. On the land, we restored the old barn—and made an open atria for tastings, worthy of the beautiful promenade.
